Dromo IIII
It is that time again. Sam wants to grudge match me for knocking him around like Toadstool in Mario Kart. We have to decide if we're gonna do D1 or K1 and what day. I say D1 and make it on a Monday night meet.

Re: Dromo IIII
D1 is a better location but the karts at K1 are way more fun. Those electric bastards get up and move. My vote falls to D1.

Re: Dromo IIII
I've weighed in on this before and I will again for the sake of the vote. D1 and K1 are BOTH badass in their own ways. Wes is right, K1 carts MOVE b/c they have great torque and really good traction. Down side is that they bog down like crazy if you slide. No drifting in K1. D1 has a better system of qualifying laps + grid + racing (1st person to cross the finish line wins). K1 does this pansy "fastest lap wins" format which means there's really no competitive passing to take the lead, unless you spend $$$$$ on a Grand Prix style race.
Final word is that D1 is better for gear heads at a car meet. Gas engines, slipping and sliding, exhaust fumes, and a passing battle to be 1st across the finish line. My vote goes to D1. I'd prefer a road course to the circle track though, if we have a choice on that. EDIT: just checked Dromo site, and Oval track is gone for the time being.

Re: Dromo IIII
It's in the LADSM.COM Meets section...so yeah, but typically it takes a solid commitment ahead of time so we can book the race and have enough room for everyone. I set up the meet two times ago, but I wasn't involved w/ planning for the last one. Did you guys book ahead of time or just show up?

Re: Dromo IIII
We just showed up. It works fine as long as we get there early enough that there are still several heats before closing.

No, we usually plan at least a month or so in advance.
